Well, Pretty explanatory. Automatic Updates was running in the background, It popped up the window to restart, I clicked restart, and now the computer's flashing this screen and one of the options is revert to saved configuration... Sorry, Can't remember what else it said. We can get it to boot in safe mode, but How to get it back to regular?
Thanks a lot,
Chris Harrington

revert to the last good configoration is your only choice there, or a system restore if it's offered

When you click on the revert to saved configuration, it just restarts and does the same thing again...

I just installed sp3 on a hp box I have and am now experiencing the same thing, error is isass.exe system error and from what I research the only way is to reinstall. no one has successfully fixed this issue and well, I guesss today when my x wife comes by to read the screen, I will be reinstalling windows xp

strange this, that sp3 creates errors for some and not for others. it really pisses me off, why can't microsoft sort their shit so it doens't cause issues?

I have successfully installed SP3 on 2 computers but I'm not sure if I want to on my remaining laptops with this issue.

i've installed it on my desktop and laptop. my advice is to backup everything, then create a restore point on every pc before installing sp3.

If the machine in question is a HP, and it has an AMD processor, well, HP has made a fix for it.

iF that isn't the case, well, then you'll have to do a reformat and reinstall Windows, or the othere option is to boot into safe Mode and do a System REstore.

good to hear that. i must say, i installed some updates yesterday and used the system restore feature to create restore point, just in case, didn't need it though, thank heavens.
